What do I need to do to get a police Clearance?
If you live in Amherstburg and need a police clearance, you must attend the Amherstburg police station, provide photo identification, and complete the application form. A small fee does apply.
Do I have to come in person or can someone else bring the record check for me?
The application must be submitted by the applicant in person only.
What photo ID do I need?
Photo identification can consist of a drivers’ license, a passport, or a student card.
Where are you located?
We are located at 532 Sandwich Street South.
What is your business hours?
We are open 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
What if I can’t make it during business hours?
Records checks are only accepted during business hours.
What is the fee?
Employment, Adoption, Immigration, Schooling, etc.....$30.00
Volunteer......$10.00
How can I pay?
We accept cash or cheque.

How do I make an FOI request?
Complete a request form, or write a letter stating that you are requesting information or asking for a correction of your personal information under MFIPPA. (Request forms are available at our office or you can use the IPC generic Request Form).

How much does it cost?
The $5.00 applicant fee must accompany your request for access to your personal information. As well, you may be charged for photocopying and shipping costs. No fees are charged for the time required to locate and prepare records containing your personal information.
How long does it take?
The Police Service must respond within 30 calendar days. However, under some circumstances, government organizations may need to extend this time frame.

When is the next Car Seat Inspection Clinic?
The Amherstburg Police Service is holding a Car Seat Inspection Clinic on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 9 am to 1 pm at the Amherstburg Fire Department on 271 Sandwich Street. No appointment Necessary. All other Car Seat Clinics are noted on the Safety Village website below.

How do I go about hiring an off-duty officer?
Organizations requesting an off-duty officer must complete
a “Request for Paid Duty” form and submit it the Staff
Sergeant (Operations) for approval. Forms are available at the office.
